John Chisum was a wealthy cattle owner and was a friend to Billy The Kid until one day Billy arrived with his gang and told him that he had owed him 500 dollars and killed his two best men, then stole his cows after his continued refusal to pay. This angered Chisum to where he hired Billy's old friend Pat Garrett as sheriff to hunt him down.
